Ok so i haven't posted in a long while, mostly cause i had nothing of intrest to post (not that this is really interesting). I found some AOR2 nylon\cotton ripstop one day while surfing the internet, and wanted to try something i hadn't done before. Why not a boonie hat? so i broke out the wife's sewing machine and got to work.
I wanted to have the band that goes around the hat match, but for all the power of google and the internet i couldn't find any AOR2 webbing. So I went back to an old trick and made my own. Somewhere on here there is a tutorial that shows how.
Before and after stitching.
Having no clue as too what i'm doing i made the brim as one piece. Actually it's 3, top, bottom and a piece of 1000d cordura to act as a stiffener. Like i said, no clue.
Lucky for you guys i forgot to take photos of the nightmare that was me trying to build the cap and attach the brim and webbing, but i did manage to put a neat pocket on the inside.
And finally assembled.
and me wearing the hat. And yes my face is that blurry (sorry, my jokes are as bad as my stitching)
Overall it was pretty fun making this, and if i had a clue it might even had come out better. Maybe i'll try another one again, but better? maybe. It's late, and i'll stop rambling now.
